Discover the charming and beautiful archeological zone of Cholula in the state of Puebla. You will walk through several tunnels inside the world biggest pyramid. Outside, you can climb the pyramid of Tlachihualtepetl, that has a beautiful catholic temple from the beginning of XVII century on top. This temple maintains a colorful neoclassical style altar, and if that was not enough, from these point you can watch the famous volcano of the Valley of Mexico: the Popocatepetl.
Later, you’ll see artistic pieces of priceless value in the temples of San Francisco Acatepec and Santa Maria Tonazintla. We’ll guarantee that you’ll be dazzled by the art created in this land, early known as the New Spain.

Itinerary
Tlachihualtepetl Pyramid tunnels
Our tour starts walking along a tunnel 280 meters long, that it is inside the great pyramid. First, you can watch stairways and different build stages of the pyramid.
Cholula Pyramid
We’ll enter the world’s biggest pyramidal basement in Cholula and visit its catholic temple on top, that is an excellent point of view for the Popocatepetl volcano and the magnificent city of Puebla.
San Francisco Acatepec and Santa Maria Tonazintla temples
Later, you’ll see priceless artistic works in the temple of San Francisco Acatepec, there you’ll discover the beautiful talavera mosaics and red bricks facade from the novohispanic period. Next, in Santa Maria Tonazintla, you can appreciate the baroque decor with indigenous motifs, angels, flowers, eagle lords and a whole sample of prehispanic world mixed with the christian one.
Puebla, Metropolitan Cathedral, Palafoxian Library and Rosario Chapel
Then we’ll go to the city of Puebla to visit the Metropolitan Cathedral to know its stories. We’ll visit the Palafoxian Library, the first library in the American continent with beautiful ornaments and books written centuries ago.
We’ll continue in the Rosario Chapel, sometime called the 8th world wonder, a chapel covered in gold leaves that will surprise you because its fine and artistic details.
(The Palafoxian Library is opened every day, except on Mondays).
After this, we’ll go to take our meal in one of the better restaurants of the place.
The tour ends going back to Mexico City, taking you back to your hotel.
