Itinerary

Muyil archaeological zone

All this tour is inside the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka’an in the state of Quintana Roo. We start visiting the famous archaeological zone of this place, although small, it has a set of buildings –pyramids, temples and platforms– among the jungle density. The main pyramid is the Muyil castle, that is 17 meters tall and is full of secrets for anthropologists. In this archaeological zone, one of the best preserved of Yucatán peninsula, there are a lot of inexplicable constructions for modern science.

Jungle path

After walk crossing the archaeological zone, we’ll continue on a very special path: Canan Ha. A wood path on the jungle that crosses little swamps and waterholes. There we’ll see plenty of jungle vegetation, especially mystical, holy and unrepeatable trees. A wonder of nature.

We’ll arrive to a wood oriel, that is 40 meters tall, from where we can see the thick jungle, the lagoon and the archaeological zone of Muyil.

This walk is full of living nature, there is a lot of humidity and heat, so you must be well hydrated, but the 20 to 30 minutes ramble is an unforgettable experience.

Muyil lagoon

At the end of the path there is the Muyil lagoon. There, in a little quay will board a small boat that will cross the lagoon until arriving to the precious Mayan channels.

The boat ride is fast, it lasts among 15 to 20 minutes. We will suffer some jumps in their waters, but the landscapes around will be wonderful. Your camera can be filled with pictures of the jungle density or the multiple colors of this lagoon.

Mayan channels

The boat will take us to a little wood quay at the other side of Muyil lagoon, where we will start the most beautiful and relaxing ride of Riviera Maya.

We’ll get off the boat and the calm tide will take us floating by the main Mayan channel, that is full of crystalline water with beautiful green turquoise tonalities, typical of this region.

Already in the water, inside the channel, you only have to relax and letting go, feel the tranquility and nature of this fantastic place. After a kilometer, we’ll arrive to another little and rustic quay, where a wood path starts and takes us to the first quay. The way back path will let us see a beautiful landscape and a high herb horizon that moves with the wind.

After Mayan channels and other landscapes, we know your heart will be full of emotions for your close encounter with Mother Nature.

The tour ends taking you back to your hotel.
