Tour brief description

Tour for 2 up to 15 people from Mexico City.

First, you’ll visit Cuernavaca, known in Mexico as the city of eternal spring. You’ll enter to the Cuernavaca cathedral, built in XVI century, one of the most ancients of the nation. We’ll continue in the central park and see the famous Cortes Palace, built after Mexico’s conquest in XVI century.

Then, we’ll arrive to the magic town of Taxco, a colonial and miner colorful town, worldwide famous by its silver handicrafts. There we’ll visit the Santa Prisca church, the Guillermo Spratling Museum and will take a ride on the famous city’s cableway.

In every moment, our certified guide will explain you the place histories, the curious details, the development and the importance of the visited sites.

Itinerary

Cuernavaca

We’ll start visiting the cathedral of Cuernavaca, a building from XVI century that shows the syncretism of two religious cultures. Inside, we’ll see big paints representing the life of San Francisco de Asis, as well as the famous black Christ. We’ll walk through the Constitution Square, also in the front garden of the Cortes Palace, a novohispanic castle from XVI century, that was the residency of Spanish conqueror Hernan Cortes.

Santa Prisca temple in Taxco

We’ll continue in Taxco, a magic town famous by its gold, silver, tin and iron deposits. In detail, we’ll see the temple of Santa Prisca, built in baroque style between the years 1748 and 1758. We’ll watch a building from XVIII century, an architectural, sculptural and painting prodigy, and of course, we’ll walk along the colonial streets of this town and we’ll have the opportunity to see silver handicrafts, the symbolic mineral of this place.

Guillermo Spratling Museum in Taxco

Here you can watch archeological representative objects from five cultural regions of Mesoamerica and see an historic semblance of the city. The museum has a space focused on silversmith and the local religious festivities.

(The museum is opened every day of the week, except Mondays).

Taxco cableway

This brief ride is one the activities more recognized in this magic town, you can enjoy the panoramic of the city, the whiteness of the houses adorned with red bricks.

After this, we’ll go to take our meal in one of the better restaurants of the place.

The tour ends going back to Mexico City, taking you back to your hotel.
